Are you curious about how physicists contribute to the transition toward sustainable energy?
The Advanced Materials and Spectroscopy Lab, Department of Physics at Tamkang University, is dedicated to advancing next-generation energy storage technologies by uncovering the fundamental science behind advanced materials. We invite talented and motivated students from around the world to join our 2-6 month TEEP research internship, with a monthly stipend of 20,000 NTD.
In this program, you will not only learn how to conduct real scientific research, but also gain hands-on experience in designing and analyzing high-performance lithium-ion battery materials. By working closely with our research team, you will explore how microscopic properties-such as electronic structure and atomic arrangement-directly influence macroscopic energy performance.
Our Secret Weapon — Advanced Light Source
Synchrotron radiation is often regarded as a powerful “Aladdin’s lamp” in modern science, allowing researchers to probe the behavior of electrons and atoms at an unprecedented level. Through advanced techniques such as X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) and Scanning Transmission X-ray Microscopy (STXM), we investigate the electronic structure and local atomic environments of energy materials. This unique opportunity enables you to access world-class large-scale research facilities that are rarely available in conventional laboratories, providing invaluable experience at the forefront of materials science.
What You Will Experience
1.Design and synthesis of advanced lithium-ion battery materials
2.Assembly and electrochemical testing of battery systems
3.Investigation of structure-property relationships using advanced characterization tools
4.Exposure to synchrotron-based X-ray techniques for nanoscale analysis
5.Interaction with international researchers and Taiwanese students
Why Join Us?
1.Work in an international research environment that strengthens your English communication skills
2.Gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge energy materials research
3.Access leading research facilities in Taiwan and abroad
4.Build a strong foundation for future graduate studies and research careers
5.Experience Taiwan’s academic culture and vibrant society
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking responsible, proactive, and curious students who are eager to learn and explore new scientific challenges. If you are passionate about energy materials and want to make an impact on global sustainability, this program is for you.
